I do not want to be so 'eat pray love' about my life but woman who are in their 30's and 40's who is quite not settled yet and quite do not know what they want or who do know what they want but did not quite get them, do have something in common. i think i have to start from the beginning...remember i was in the UK last year and the year before doing my Phd?? well it does not quite work out for me...so here i am again in Msia hoping for a second chance in getting my doctorate. I came back to Msia for good in March; report myself to my employee in May i.e. i have to work again *sigh* and after successfully got an offer from UUM, have to register in September directly after Eid. Pheww...sometime i just wonder where did i get all the energy....of course all these did not happen without the emotional roller coaster and heartfelt mumbo jumbo. I took everything in my stride and smile although my heart and self esteem were tearing apart. Like i said there still a lot of growing up to do...

i am 38 and have been single since forever...after being picked on by this man about my addiction to FB, thats decided me, i do not want to share my life with anyone, ever!!! if it is in my dream or in some movie, the plot that i am in right now will be like this - am a drop dead sophisticated writer; i am two days behind in getting my writing done in order to hand it over to my editor and my drop dead gorgeous ala Jose Mourinho BF is picking on me for playing games on the computer instead of finishing my work and i become mad at him for that...

but the reality is, i am still sophisticated writer but not a drop dead one; i am two days behind in getting my essay done for my Phd supervisor to check and my, the only one good friend who happens to be a guy and SO not ala Jose Mourinho telling me jokingly that i will not get my essay done if i keep on visiting my fishville aquarium in FB every now and then....i am mad at him for that (the only similar scenario)....people say that there is some truth in a joke...but i can't help feeling gutted for his remarks!!! since he is not a Jose Mourinho look alike, he will not get away with it....

I went on a trip to Stonehenge last Saturday. The trip was organized by the International Students Office. It was all right. The weather was good. I took a lot of pictures of the stone. Its kinda dissapointing for me as i always thought that there were huge but nope. As you can see, they are only double the size of a human and maybe as big as a 2 storey house. As usual, i got myself some souvenirs after that and the trip continued to the nearby town of Salisbury.

Brighton was divine...i love every minute of it although it was puasa time...Rahida attended her conference and Moi galivanting in town...i discovered how to get a bus from our hostel to town...the bus passed directly infront of the sea and Moi decided to hop off there every time and enjoy the sea air...when Rahida finished her conference, we berbuka puasa. Since all the shops were closed by 6pm, we have no where to go except for Somerfield and Tesco to buy food for sahur and then we went back to the hostel...we used the train to go back to the hostel and it was not far; just 2 stops!!! i had fun!!! :P

p/s you could hop on bus no 25 or 28 from Brighton University to town centre...most buses pass the Churchill Square shopping centre and you could just hop off the buses that pass through there...

From Leeds we passed through Manchester to get to Liverpool....

After shopping at the megastore, picture taking is a must!!! I bought stuff just for myself as i am the only one in the family who are a Liverpool fan...

I went back to the Midlands last weekend Bank Holiday....where else but to Leeds to Rahida's place...and Saturday last we went to Liverpool!!!! yeay!!!! home to the Liverpool FC; Rahida is also a fan...

Anfield Stadium...its not hard for us to get to the place by bus...if you are from the National Express Coach station, walk to London Street and from there you can get the no. 17 bus...that bus will stop directly infront of the stadium....

After Anfield, we went to Albert Dock....and the Beatles Museum...we did not enter the museum but just went to the souvenir shop....

There's so much to see in Liverpool unlike Manchester if i may say so....as it is only a day trip, we only managed to visit Anfield and Albert Dock....Liverpool also offer a beautiful and very inviting shopping complex which we have no time to visit....sigh!!! next time!!! yeah!!!

2nd destination was Manchester...the midlands was s0 cold...i felt so "underdress".....i never expected it to be that cold as it was somehow hot in London....

i did tell you that the tress will gonna be different come spring...well here they are....above is the picture i took when i just got here in the middle of March and below a picture i took today at the end of April....huge different?? you tell me....

i just finished the homework that my supervisor asked me to do during our first meeting...it seems i gave you the impression that i kinda have nothing to do by bothering about trees and such....haha...

its been a month already and im still a bit teeny weeny missing home....i miss my life in Labuan very much it seems....i miss how i got to wake up very late in the morning although its a working day; i miss my reaching the office at 9am everyday; i miss after making myself a cup of coffee, i would surf the net - facebooking and not searching for something in particular!!! i miss going to town with Sabariah during lunch time ; i miss UK; i miss waiting for the working hours to be over; i miss how i would decide whether to go back early or not ( due to being late in the morning); i miss reaching the house and wondering whether my housemates are at home or not; i miss hanging out in the living room after maghrib and watch the 8pm news; i miss surfing the internet again in front of the tv in the living room while watching the news; i miss talking to my friends and discussing about the drama and life that was going on in the campus; i miss talking to Sabariah about life and love problems (sigh)....i miss relaxing and doing nothing during weekends!!! i just miss my life there...i know i hate it at the time but how i miss it now so !! now we know why people always ask us to appreciate what we have in the present....later i know am going to miss my life here in Meadow Hall.... :)

i just miss my life in Labuan....i know its not going to be the same when i get back!!! idy will be somewhere in the world and sabariah will be married and will stay in Kuching....azleen?? like i care!!! haha

Waterstones Gower Street...you can find everything here...stationaries, magazines, newspapers, cards etc...

This time my trip to Waterstones near UCL had materialised...i've been meaning to go there since forever to look for any good book on international economic or international environmental law...the Waterstones here is full of academic books as it is next to London University...above is the University of London Union...this place is use to be my playground...

There's an entrance going to SOAS next to the bus stop...such a beautiful sight...

Gower Street

I used to hop on no.73 bus going to Oxford Street...and it would passed Gower Street...ahaks!!! i love it then coz i know i could just reached Oxford Street @ town center in a jiffy from King's Cross...

Now i have to pass all these places to get to Oxford Street...it will take an hour journey from Uxbridge...yawn!!!

I am not so happy today... because firstly when i reached Queensway to have lunch at Msia Hall, the Canteen was closed for some function entah...ish!!! have been waiting for a week to have a good meal at that place!!!
so i decided to just go straight to Westfield Shopping Mall. The visit mainly is to hunt for a spring coat...i feel that the coat that i have now is too thick for spring. It has been sunny this few days...
But the coat that i had usha (eyeing) at Dorothy Perkins was not at that outlet...i supposed it is only on sale at the other outlets but not in Westfield...another ish!!!
3rdly, after Westfield i planned to go to Waterstones at New Oxford Street to buy Tim Hartford book....i was confident that there is a Waterstones at that street...there was one in 2006 ( i was around for a visit)....i couldnt find one!!! i end up walking along the New Oxford Street dunno what to do but remain alert for Waterstones or other bookstore!!! there was Borders but i did not enter...no Waterstones to be seen down the street until Piccadilly Circus....it was hot and crowded....remind me not to walk along Regent Street during weekends....that was the 3rd ish!!!
suddenly i feel like fainting....then i remembered i did not eat anything since morning....i just bought orange juice earlier at Waitrose in Westfield....aaarrrggghhhh....
so when i reached Leicester Sq i ate a bar of choc and drink a bottle of water and decided to just go home....
oh ya not to forget, i brought my camera but the battery is dead so no picture taking as well....sigh!!! so much for my saturday outing huh??!!

me and arif during the parting assembly at KLIA...we ate at Mcdonald!!! everybody was there except of coz choo , pidot and their family...

i arrived at heathrow in the wee hours of Wednesday morning!! for the first time i was fetched instead of having to use the tube going into the city...it took only 15 minutes from Heathrow to Brunel University at Uxbridge!! it was a cold march morning and indeed England is very beautiful due to it...
after i check myself in to the hall, i straight away got myself registered and do all the necessary!! but the most important thing for me is to get my laptop connected to the uni network!!! i got it done that very afternoon!!! phhewww...its huge important for me to get in touch with loved ones at home particular in my situation when i am all alone in this part of the world!!! i have yet to stumble upon a fellow Malaysian!!

thats the first day, i have not felt the homesickness yet!!!

the next day , i got to go to Central London to report myself to the Jabatan Penuntut Malaysia . i bought the day travel card and you know how much it cost these days - 7.50 okay!! damn expensive!!! it used to be 5 pound...hehe...i got into the metropolitan line and the journey passed through the places that used to be my playground - Harrow on the Hill!!! i was emo when i passed the place....so many things have happened at that place....it has witnesses my agony of having to go to my master degree exams and my happiness after i finished them....

such sweet memories and of course it was not that sweet at the time....am amazed at myself for having the guts to go through all that just for a piece of paper and an experience of living in London...

and 7 years later here i am again....its like the days never passed....

I received an email from my uncle who has been the warden of SFH London as far as i can remember (like since forever)...he told me that he has reserved a room for me at the house but only for a week...how am i supposed to tell him that my plan has changed?? the plan of leaving on the 1st of March is cancelled and the new ETD as of now will be on the 15th March...i need to stay in Labuan at least for a week and my visit to Kuching to see my family would require at least the same amount of time!!! sigh!!!

i am so intrigue....

All these pictures were taken when i was on the hop on and hop off bus...using the bus is one way of seeing Paris in one day!!! but i still believe that you need to walk through the streets to really experience and have the feeling over the city.....am kinda still not fully satisfied just by watching Paris from top of the bus!!!

Therefore, i really love my walk to and fro La Fayette shopping mall and my hotel coz from there i could smell the sweet aroma of Paris......i just love europe!!! going to study in London is will open the gate for me to explore europe more.....tres bien!!!

i have a few resolutions that i tot could help me succeed through life in 2009 :-

1) never mind and/or spend time on losers, chicken shits and the likes;

2) work to be beautiful like michelle yeoh!!

3) work , study and play hard;

4) do not frete and fidgeting on irrelevant issues and stupid problems;

5) just focus-focus-focus!!!

6) spend money reasonably...

waalaa....

We had the opportunity to visit Dubai on our way back to Malaysia....Courtesy of Etihad Airways...above me n fifi on a boat ride ......

We only reached the tower d'eiffel at night after long over the top shopping at champ ellysse that afternoon. We nearly miss our HopOn Hop Off Bus to get us to the tower...

the seine; we did not walk along the seine; we just did the sight seeing from our Hop On Hop Off Bus... there were just no time!!! everyday were filled with activities. The day after we went to factory outlet outskirt of Paris and Amsterdam the day after that!!! will do the walking next time!! hehehe......

Good news...Moi has succeeded in getting myself accepted to do a doctorate degree in Brunel Law School London!!! yeay!!! So London, here i come....but would only be leaving in March 2009.Well, one shouldnt complain...its only 2 1/2 months to go......

Paris Part 1

Me and Fifi decided to go to Paris last August and then there we were on one September morning bought ourselves a return ticket to Paris!! We used Etihad Airlines thus had to transit in Abu Dhabi....

Moi.....waiting with enthusiast in Abu Dhabi....b4 that i slept all the time!!!

We left KLIA at 9pm and arrive AD at around 12am UAE time. Above is the sight of Abu Dhabi airport transit area....small but with lots of people awaiting for their flight.....this was taken at about 5am in the morning......but the best thing about this place is that it has counters where we could use a pc to surf the internet for free. We left AD for Paris at 2pm that afternoon and arrive in Paris at 7pm.......
The view from our hotel room. Apparently our room was on the top floor and very comfy and the bathroom was so cosy.....i like!!!

That was my shirt hanging; dicuci coz ada sambal stain and please dont ask me why ada sambal stain.......

Nice huh??!! i like the glass door near the sink.......i tot it was a cupboard at first but it was just a door....imagine people could enter while you having your shower!!! ah well, that could only happened in movies!! tres bien!!!

Johor & Singapore- June 2008

One weekend in June, fifi,me and my aunty drove down to Johore Bahru and Singapore!!! this is my first ever visit to Johore and my 2nd to Singapore but after a very long time!!! my last visit was when i was 8 years old!!! Oui!!! We stayed at the Hyatt JB....kinda posh but a very old hotel, i might say.

This trip is courtesy of UMS- i went to Cambridge UK to attend an academic conference....with Fifi in tow, i manage to reach UK in one summer evening!! We stayed at one quaint BB in King Cross. I chose King Cross because i could take a train to Cambridge from its station.
